What are Web Applications?
The term Web Application or WebApp was born with the dawning of the World Wide Web or the Internet. Basically, applications can be defined as programs compiled into useable software that provides a useful functionality for the user. There are general applications and there are customized or specific applications. In a web setting, web applications are those that are accessed by connecting to the web or an intranet network, like office networks, usually with the use of a web browser.
The popularity of web applications are brought about by the increasing number of clients or users that need to access similar applications often simultaneously. Creating these web applications will save on software distribution and installation on each client.
